Gower Challenge 29th and 30th July

The Winners 2017 - Charlie and Simon.

Welcome to our Mumbles Yacht Club Gower Challenge 2017 event page.

The Gower Challenge is a weekend dedicated to long distance racing, starting with a long distance race to Oxwich and back on day 1, and then concluding with two long distance races 'around the cans'.

The long distance race is around 10nm each way, taking in stunning views of the Gower coastline as we go.

It's a head to head between the cat and dinghy fleets!

The race is open to catamarans with an SCHRS of 1.55 or lower and two or more person dinghies with a PN of 999 or lower.

Entry fee is £20 for the weekend, free to Mumbles Yacht Club members.

Minimum age for the event is 15.

Please register online via the online form so that we can gauge numbers coming!

We've included some photos from recent events in the links below to give you a feel for the sailing area and the club.

Please feel free to post queries in the comment section below or use our contact page.

Gower Challenge Results

We have been used live tracking in some of our races and events, and are proud to announce that Mumbles Yacht Club has teamed up with RaceQS to provide live tracking for the 2017 Mumbles Yacht Club Regatta.

We shall try to play the race live in the club during the event for spectators to watch, and then you can watch the replays to your hearts content. See where you won or lost out. All that's needed is that you carry either an Android or Apple phone on board (in a waterproof bag if needed), and download the RaceQS app. The app uses a little of your data plan to upload to the RaceQS regatta page.

Register (so you can replay your own tracks online), set it to "Live Update" and then start tracking just prior to going out. Any questions on the setup, there's plenty at the club to help you.

Watch it live or replayed here
